Missions
Our church has a heart for missions. Our concern is not only for the unsaved in our own community, but also for those around the world who do not know Christ. Starkey Road Baptist Church contributes to the partial support of approximately 90 missionaries and organizations. Our missionaries cover the globe as they minister in over 30 countries and 6 continents. Our financial contribution to missions is well over a quarter million dollars annually. We are privileged to have a number of our members serving faithfully and effectively as missionaries in our own community. We have many others who are serving as leaders, board members, advisors, financial contributors, or staff with various missionary organizations in our country. Likewise, it has been a great blessing for us to see numerous individuals in our church respond to God's call to missionary service, many of whom are serving around the world.
Mission Trips
Each year, members of our congregation participate in a variety of ministry opportunities both in the United States and in foreign fields. Ministry opportunities have included work trips to Camp Grace (NC), Teen Valley Ranch (NC), and Hands of Grace Ministries (MO). Youth mission outreaches include trips to Chicago, IL; Lafayette, LA; Detroit, MI; and Palm Beach, FL. Foreign missions trips have been taken to Brazil and Germany.
Some of the other missionary ministries of our church include: student missions trips, short-term missionaries, special missionary projects, adult missions trips, monthly missionary speakers, annual missionary conference, Missionary Workday, and the Wordless Book Ministry.
Mission Affiliations
We support and minister with a variety of mission agencies, all of which support our doctrinal positions and world-view. Our pastor currently serves on the board of two mission agencies: Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE) and Baptist Mid-Missions (BMM).
